With this post I want to draw your attention to the topic of social media and psychological pressure, the imposition of certain «public» images, artificially created fashion for almost all aspects of our lives, including personal ones.
And I am writing about this because the other day serious data were published on the increase in suicide cases among teenage girls, especially those who are overweight.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has published new guidelines for screening children for depression starting at age 12, saying there has been a significant increase in isolation, anxiety, depression, and suicide rates among teens.

The relationship between the negative influence of media on people and the extent of this negative influence is not easy to determine. But scientists have concluded that there are two fundamentally different types of users of these networks: active and passive. Active users maintain their pages and share their content. Passive users absorb information posted by others and spend time discussing what they read and heard. This group is more negatively affected than the first.
⠀
How to avoid negative influence?
1. Create your page and share your information, preferably positive.
2. Do not enter conflicting discussions of some posts.
3. Start the day with a smile and if you don’t like someone’s posts or don’t agree with the information, don’t read. Do not spoil the mood for yourself and others.
4. Nobody obliges you to be subscribed to someone’s pages. This is your personal choice.
5. AND MOST IMPORTANT: If you have children, no matter what age, and they use some social network pages (even watch cartoons), do not forget to control the content of these pages, and always discuss the situation with your child if you see that his/her depressed mood after using a mobile phone or computer.
Teach children to filter information and respond appropriately to it.
